Erythema Toxicum and footprints; soccer

Baby's get baby rash also called baby acne, it just happens. They also (especially postdate babies) get dry peely skin. Poor Jonny has a rousing case of baby rash (erythema toxicum), AND thrush, AND the peely skin, AND goopy eyes (he had bruising around his eyes and nose from his "precipitous" delivery). We went for his two week check up and I commented that I hoped his waranty wasn't up yet cause he looks a little worse for wear.

He is fine though, and doing super. As of Wednesday he was back up to 9 lbs 8oz, not bad considering the previous week he was down to 9.1 and also he's battling thrush.

Thursday was my two week post partum check and he got his footprints on the wall of the birthing center. He was actually born up the hall in L&D but we were birthing center patients for the whole pregnancy so we still are considered a birthing center family.
Soccer is going well also, Jonny has now gone to two practices and his first game. Joy has learned to cheer and say "GO Cheetahs!!" with great vigor. Jessi scored the first goal of the season for her team last week at the game, and Joey is doing excellent with his sportsmanship and attitudes. I have no doubts that he will be ready for the 1-3 league in the spring.

Joyana... look at the grin, look at the curls, what a kid

Joyana in front of her footprints. They are to the top right of her head, circled in pink. The walls, floor to ceiling, of the waiting room in the center are covered with the footprints of all 1000+ babies born there.
Nel, my wonderful Midwife, holding Jonny
Hey, why is there another soccer picture stuck here? I don't know. Blogger puts my pictures in whatever order it feels like. anyway, Jessi at practice.

Jonny's rash. most babies get this in individual spots, he got great patches of it. just lucky i guess
Jonny's name on the birth board for september.

Nel and my hands holding Jonny's leg for his footprints
There wasn't room by Joy's prints to put Jonny, so they wrote it underneath. She is just across the doorway from him so they aren't too far apart.

Kyle had that exact same rash for the first month or so. He still has very dry skin and seems to be sensitive to highly scented baby lotions(the kind that smell great!) I use Aveeno moisturizing cream for babies with dry skin. Great pictures!
