I had an appointment today... for the THIRD week in a row, the midwifery center called me to say "don't come" because the MW was laboring someone. I did get to go in this afternoon, but I have to say, I just broke down and cried this morning... WHEN is it going to be my turn??
anyway, I did make slight progress and have the ok to try a castor oil induction tomorrow. I'm excited and hoping and praying that it works. If it doesn't, I am scheduled to go in for a medical induction on Thursday. I don't want that, for many reasons, but I do know that I. am. done.
A little history:
first baby, 42 full weeks, went in for induction, then after being there for two hours, sent home because they needed my room for someone in labor (NOT the same place I birth now!). Went into labor myself, 20+ hours, baby Joey was 9 lbs, 2 oz.
Second baby, 41 weeks and a few days, induced due to low fluid levels, less than three hours from first labor twinge to delivery, but not a fun experience AT ALL. Baby Jessica was 8 lbs, 3 oz.
Third Baby, 39 weeks, 5 days, natural labor and delivery, BEAUTIFUL experience, Baby Joyana was 7 lbs, 7 oz.
Fourth Baby, currently 41 weeks, 3 days, at the ultra sound on Friday they said it was already 9 lbs. We shall see. I don't put a lot of stock in the ultra sound estimates.
by hook or by crook, baby J will be born within the next two days.
I would love any and all prayers that I can have the desire of my heart to go naturally.
Hope to update SOON with news of the birth and pictures and weights and little details like if Baby J is a boy or a girl....

Oh my goodness, you poor thing - what awful delivery stories for the first two.
Other than Michael's labor being quite long (which is common I know for the first one) my next three went much faster and I have no horror stories.
Michael was due on Mother's Day but arrived six days early - I started on my own and the epidural worked beautifully and my delivery was so wonderful because of it, even with a big baby to start.
2.8 years later Kaitlyn was about 48 hours shy of being a preemie but even then she was 6 pounds 7 ounces (can't imagine how big she would have been had she gone full term instead of arriving 3 weeks and 5 days early!) and my labor went quite fast, so fast that the epidural didn't even have time to kick in as I had no sooner laid back down then the nurse announced that she was ready to arrive but sure made the hour after delivery very comfortable - ha.
Ethan arrived 2 days early, started on my own, and my entire labor was only 3 hours, we left for the hospital immediately after I had the first contraction - I pretty much skip straight to the end of delivery and start immediately with very hard contractions, it's weird. For him the epidural worked great and I had such an easy, smooth delivery with a very fast and easy recovery - he was an 8 and a half pounder like his big brother.
And I already told you about Devin's size in my other comment - that delivery was with no epidural (just didn't work that time, I think I couldn't bend over far enough b/c my belly was SO huge) and I much prefer with epidurals for me although thankfully my labor was so short and since he was my fourth and not my third my body was more ready for a big baby...if I had to choose one delivery to not have an epidural that would be the one.
If I had your first two experiences I would have been looking for something different to do also!
I'm hoping your next post will be tomorrow and it too will be titled "Labor Day!" "-)
I truly hope all goes well for you and Baby J!! I understand about not always trusting the ultrasound. When I was pregnant with my "Lil Guy" Juwah was pregnant with her oldest guy. Ultrasound said my guy's head was "off the charts" and she was to have the little guy. So I was induced. As it turned out, she had a healthy 9 pound boy and I had the "Lil Guy" at 7 lb 8 oz. Go figure! :-)
God bless you! Will be looking forward to an announcement!
Praying for a natural healthy birth.
I hope you have a blessed labor and delivery! Looking forward to "meeting" Baby J :-) Are you having a homebirth? I couldn't remember....
Been checkin' your blog...anxious to hear how you all are!
